Since 1991, the Rawlinson Group has been a key contributor to the Bury St Edmunds community. Back then however, the business simply consisted of Renault and their service department. In 2011, both Citroen and Mitsubishi were added to the family owned business and since then we have gone from strength to strength.
Much has changed in the motoring world over the past 25 years. Could you imagine what people would have said to the concept of a fully electric vehicle back in 1991? However nowadays they are an ever-growing trend on our roads.
Yesterday, we teamed up with the West Suffolk Council to help promote the environmental and personal benefits of these vehicles with their Electric Vehicle Day at The Arc in Bury St Edmunds. Showcasing four of our fully electric, and hybrid vehicles: The Renault Zoe, Renault Twizy, Renault Kangoo Z.E and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV hybrid we helped to promote the benefits of going electric.
We were even lucky enough to have the Mayor Councillor Julia Wakelam take our Renault Zoe out for a test drive. After a breif chat with our team, she hit the roads in style and was glowing with praise on her return!
Although these vehicles may differ in size dramatically, the cost benefits each presents are astronomical. And with West Suffolk Council offering any local business a £1,000 grant to switch to electric – we can’t see any reason to hold back.
Voted best EV car under £20,000 – this 100% electric vehicle is perfect for running about the town in. This 5 door hatchback can do around 90 miles on just one charge, and comes with a colour touchscreen and sat-nav even on the entry level model.
The Twizy is for those that want to stand out. This unique design is sure to turn heads with its 2 seater egg-shape. And with it’s unbelievably low price point, it makes the perfect run-around for food delivery services, or for those that want to be noticed.
Renault Kangoo Z.E:
The Renault Kangoo Z.E is packed with safety and technology equipment. This 100% electric van is available in three different versions to suit every user, and by going electric you can save your business £1,000s in fuel costs.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV:
The biggest of the bunch, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a unique hybrid. Boasting power in both the front and rear of the vehicle, it sure packs a punch. And don’t forget, on this vehicle the government are currently offering grants of £2,500. Package this with the £1,000 local business offer presented by West Suffolk Council and you could save £3,500.
